Airnorth is the Top End's leading airline operating a fleet of E120 and E170/190. We are currently recruiting for a Darwin based B1 LAME to join our NT Engineering Team in troubleshooting, conducting routine and non-routine maintenance, and performing repairs on various aircraft systems and components in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAMEs) are responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of aircraft as directed. They are also required to direct, supervise and certify for aircraft work carried out by unlicensed aircraft maintenance engineers and apprentices who are assigned to work under their supervision.
LAMEs are responsible to the Engineering Manager through the Senior Engineering Staff for:
- Performing all duties in a safe and effective manner with due diligence to the requirements of Company procedures and health and safety legislation;
Conducting and certifying for maintenance of aircraft in accordance with the Company Exposition, including ensuring that:
Maintenance teams under their control work in accordance with Company procedures and CASR/CASA regulatory standards;
Maintenance team activities are performed in accordance with agreed maintenance plans;
Details of the work entered on worksheets accurately reflects the maintenance that has been carried out;
All necessary certifications have been made for the maintenance tasks by appropriately authorised certifying employees;
At the completion of the maintenance, a CRS is issued in accordance with the Exposition and EPM procedures; and
Completed work packages are delivered to the responsible Engineering Manager or Production Planner for audit and processing prior to being given to the customer or operator CAMO.
Conducting maintenance on aircraft and components IAW published airworthiness data;
- Performing work to a quality standard acceptable to Airnorth and customer requirements;
- Performing administrative duties associated with the position;
- Coordinating work as directed, including undertaking Project or Team Supervisor functions when required;
- Advising their Senior Engineer when requirements specified in the Exposition, other engineering manuals and procedures require amendment, and assist with the preparation of those amendments;
- Liaising with DAMP Supervisor(s) immediately following an accident or incident or in the case of suspected drug/alcohol use
- Participation in the Safety Management System (AIRS) for all accidents, incidents, hazards and near misses; and
- Any other duties as instructed and appropriate to the job's function and the incumbent's skills.
This position is currently scheduled on a rotating roster basis across a 4 days on, 4 days off, 11 hour day roster.
Travel may be required on short notice, especially in AOG situations.
Aircraft Maintenance will require work in hangars, on the ramp, or in other outdoor environments.
We are looking for LAMEs with an understanding of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations applicable to Certificate of Approvals and demonstrated time management skills to work under pressure. High levels of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with great problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and the ability to work and contribute proactively within a small team environment.
LAMEs are required to use various systems across the CASA and company networks and must have the ability to obtain and hold an ASIC as well as an Airside Drivers Licence. Human Factors training and a current passport are also essential.
The current base salary range for this position is $105,000 to $112,000 plus superannuation, with any applicable licences payable in addition.
