About The Role
If you're passionate about creating customer-led retail experiences and love turning data into smart, space-efficient solutions, this is your chance to make a real impact. As part of our Store Development team, you'll help shape how our stores look, feel and function—bringing together customer insights, merchandising principles and operational efficiency.
You'll be joining a collaborative, forward-thinking team that's always looking for better ways to serve our customers and support our teams.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract role, based out of our Burnley Support Office in Melbourne, where we support and embrace hybrid working.
What's Involved
This role is all about using data and design to optimise our store layouts and drive performance.
You'll
- Develop and maintain floorplans that are customer-focused and operationally efficient
- Analyse category and department performance to maximise return on space
- Collaborate with stakeholders across merchandising, marketing, ecommerce, store development and operations
- Contribute to range reviews by providing space analysis and recommendations
- Support new store openings and refurbishments with tailored space planning strategies
- Champion merchandising principles and help drive innovation across the team
- Review rack and merchandise plans to ensure alignment with store demographics and business goals
About You
You're someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys solving complex problems with practical solutions. You're curious, analytical and confident working with data but also know how to bring people together to get things done.
You'll be joining a team that values openness, teamwork and continuous improvement. We're big on supporting each other and inspiring you to give it a red hot go.
You'll Need
- Proven experience in space planning, ideally within a retail environment
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with large datasets
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Access
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A knack for planning and organisation, with great attention to detail
- Experience in coordinating projects and working autonomously
- A tertiary qualification in business, commerce or a related field (preferred)
- Experience using space planning technology such as Blue Yonder would be beneficial
- Retail store experience and familiarity with customer and market insights will be advantageous
You'll be part of a workplace where you'll feel like you belong.
We love the diversity across our teams, brought together in an inclusive culture guided by our values. We welcome applications from individuals of all ages, cultural backgrounds, abilities, sexual orientations, and gender identities. We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to apply and join us in shaping a workplace that celebrates First Nations voices, perspectives, and contributions. Please note, you must be age 15 or over to apply for a role at Bunnings.
We're all about fairness at Bunnings, and our team's here to support you every step of the way. If you need any adjustments, just let us know - we're here to help. If you've got the experience, skills, and drive to grow - but don't quite nail every part of the job description - we still want to hear from you. For support, contact us at
Bunnings reserves the right to close job advertisements at any time, so we encourage you to apply early. We do not accept unsolicited resumes from recruitment agencies, as we have a dedicated internal Talent Acquisition team managing all hiring processes.
