You will

  • Architect and develop sophisticated user experiences, features, and systems to scale and enhance our product offering
  • Design and implement robust data models and components with a focus on integration and system architecture
  • Create cloud functions for complex backend processes: database change triggers, scheduled tasks, and handling API calls
  • Improve IoT architecture and data flows to boost performance and reliability
  • Monitor system error reports, diagnose issues, and execute optimisations to maintain high service standards
  • Mentor junior engineers, lead technical discussions, and drive projects to successful completion
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Hardware, and Founders to influence the strategic direction of Yellowbox's technology
  • Contribute to an engineering culture of ownership, learning, and collaboration

About you

  • 4+ years of software development experience with a strong background in TypeScript, Firebase, Vue or other relevant frontend frameworks
  • Proven track record of architecting and implementing complex systems
  • Strong experience in IoT software development and an understanding of the unique challenges of IoT architecture
  • Skilled problem solver focused on delivering scalable, maintainable solutions
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and align engineering with business goals
  • Bonus: experience mentoring and shaping engineering teams in high-growth environments
