Team Leader - Processing Team

We are a well-established, reputable family-owned Fruit & Vegetable Wholesaler with a legacy spanning 30 years, conveniently located in Burleigh Heads. We supply fresh-cut fruit, vegetables, and freshly made juices to food manufacturers and food service operations across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and Northern Rivers.

We are now seeking a hands-on and experienced Team Leader to oversee our Processing Team, where leadership, efficiency, and commitment to quality are key to maintaining our high operational standards.

Job Description

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support processing team members by providing on-the-job guidance and ensuring smooth daily operations within a positive work environment
  • Food Preparation & Production: Assist with preparation and processing tasks such as cutting, bagging, or packing as required, helping to meet daily production targets by completing tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Quality Control: Monitor product quality and consistency, ensuring adherence to portion and presentation standards, and promptly report any quality issues to the Executive Chef
  • Food Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and workplace health and safety standards by following hygiene procedures, promoting safe work practices, and reporting hazards or incidents through the SHERM system
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the Executive Chef and other team leaders to coordinate workflow and work closely with other processing areas to maintain an efficient production line

Additional Skills and Attributes
- Experience working in a food processing, commercial kitchen, or production environment
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (HACCP knowledge is a plus)
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
- Experience operating food processing machinery
- Ability to train, motivate, and support team members
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
