Sydney, New South Wales, Australia HAYLO People Full time

Our client is looking to strengthen their Work Health & Safety (WHS) capability within their manufacturing and supply operations. Historically supported by consultants, the business now wants to appoint a dedicated WHS professional to take ownership of the function and embed a strong safety culture across all operations.

The organisation is in a significant growth phase, with major expansion planned across multiple states, including new facilities under development and a continued rollout of new operational sites.

The Role:

  • Establish, lead, and embed WHS processes and governance frameworks
  • Build and maintain a positive safety and compliance culture from the ground up
  • Conduct and implement risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
  • Partner closely with operational leaders to drive best practices
  • Support rollout of new safety systems and technology across multiple sites
  • Play a key role in standardising WHS practices as the business scales nationally

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, collaborative, and ready to grow with the business over the next few years as part of a broader safety transformation.

Operational Environment

  • Fast-paced manufacturing and logistics setting with heavy equipment, machinery, and forklifts
  • Multiple production and distribution sites across NSW and VIC, with a new facility planned in QLD
  • Central office located above one of the main production facilities in Western Sydney
  • Approximately 100+ staff nationally, with steady headcount growth anticipated

Candidate Profile

  • Background in manufacturing, production, logistics, or industrial operations
  • Strong understanding of WHS systems, compliance, and auditing
  • Experienced in incident management, site inspections, and safety governance
  • Confident using digital tools for risk reporting and data interpretation
  • Minimum Cert IV in WHS, ideally with a Diploma or Degree
  • Additional ICAM investigation training and First Aid certification are desirable
  • Ability to work autonomously while engaging collaboratively with operations and HR

Employee Benefits

  • Regular team lunches and onsite perks
  • Leadership development programs (including access to online learning platforms)
  • Wellbeing initiatives and volunteer days
  • Corporate rates for banking and superannuation
  • Paid birthday leave and branded uniforms/merchandise
