ABOUT US

The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with production projected of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To support our ongoing growth, we currently have a number of opportunities to join our Team as a Deputy. If successful in this role, you will collaborate with a dynamic team, demonstrating strong leadership to promote a robust safety culture while maintaining a strong focus on continuous improvement, problem-solving, and upholding high standards. Your responsibilities would include:

  • Ensuring adherence to Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Driving, and delivering, production targets.
  • Supervise execution of maintenance schedules in compliance with statutory and site regulations.
  • Conducting statutory and compliance inspections as required by legislation.
  • Emphasizing waste reduction and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Deliver effective communication to workers

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Underground Coal Mining.
  • NSW Practicing Certificate to perform the role of Deputy, Undermanager or Manager of Underground Coal Mines.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet production targets.
  • Sound report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and strong communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability in hazard awareness and identification, and incident management
  • Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment would be advantageous.
