About the role

Boatshed Market is seeking an experienced Sashimi Chef to join our team in the heart of Perth. As a full-time Sashimi & Teppanyaki chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality Japanese cuisine, including sashimi, sushi, and other delicacies, to delight our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents in a thriving hospitality environment.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing and presenting a wide range of fresh sashimi, Teppanyaki, and other Japanese dishes to the highest standards
2. Ensuring strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations
3. Collaborating with the kitchen team to deliver exceptional customer service
4. Maintaining a clean and organised workstation
5. Assisting in menu development and recipe testing
6. Mentoring and training junior team members

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sashimi Chef in a reputable restaurant or high-volume kitchen
2. Proven expertise in preparing and presenting a variety of sashimi, sushi and other Japanese dishes
3. Excellent knife skills and attention to detail
4. Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, ingredients and food safety standards
5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
7. Passion for delivering exceptional customer service
