The Financial Accountant, reporting to the Financial Controller, will provide high-quality, customer-focused general accounting services for The Star Sydney, ensuring timely delivery and full compliance.
This is a fantastic opportunity where you can put your skills and knowledge to the test to deliver a thrilling new era for our Finance team.
A few of your responsibilities:
- Deliver core accounting services including journals, month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and tax support
- Support monthly reporting with balance sheets, reconciliations, and P&L analysis
- Prepare reporting packs for The Star Sydney and relevant business units
- Compile regulatory reports as required
- Resolve transactional issues and escalate when necessary
- Assist with accounting and reporting queries from business partners and teams
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CA/CPA qualified or currently studying
- 3+ years' experience in a similar financial accounting role

You're a detail-oriented and commercially savvy Financial Accountant with a passion for numbers and a strong understanding of the unique dynamics of the hospitality industry.
With a solid foundation in financial reporting, compliance, and budgeting, you thrive in fast-paced environments where accuracy and timeliness are key.
