The Role

As COO, you'll act as the operational and commercial leader of Rocket Lab. You will oversee day-to-day operations, drive revenue growth, ensure excellence in delivery, and strengthen client relationships. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll be responsible for scaling the business while preserving our culture of care, expertise, and solution-driven thinking.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Translate company vision into clear operational plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams across delivery, sales, and operations.
  • Ensure Rocket Lab continues to live its values: clarity, proactivity, value, solutions, care, and courage.

Business Growth

  • Own revenue targets and oversee new business development.
  • Build and maintain strategic client relationships, ensuring repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Identify new market opportunities and refine service offerings to align with client needs.

Operations & Delivery

  • Oversee project delivery to ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Implement scalable systems, processes, and reporting across the business.
  • Monitor financial performance, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Culture & People

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support talent acquisition and retention, ensuring we attract and keep top engineering and design talent.
  • Encourage innovation and professional growth within the team.

About You

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a digital agency, consulting firm, or software development company.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving growth and profitability.
  • Deep understanding of digital product development and the ability to speak the language of engineers, designers, and clients alike.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client relationship skills.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable rolling up your sleeves in a scaling environment.
