About the role

As an experienced Financial Accountant with minimum 1 years expereince in the Construction industry,

the role is to lead and manage the day to day finance operations of the company by implementing and overseeing effective business, administrative and financial strategies in order to increase revenue and market share. Hours are Monday to Friday 8.30 am pm.

Tasks & Responsibilities

* Complete end to end payroll processing including Superannuation, WorkCover, Payroll Tax, PAYG calculations etc

* Prepare and lodge BAS in line with statutory requirements

* Reconcile bank Statements and credit cards on a daily basis

* Reconcile balance sheet on a monthly basis

* Prepare documentation including work instructions, letters and reports as required

* Produce accurate reporting for the leadership team as required, including profit & loss, job costing reports, balance sheets.

* Prepare cash flow reporting and assist with cash flow management

* Prepare and complete accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

* Maintain new and existing customers and suppliers in Xero

* Undertake regular data checks and audits in reporting systems

* Complete year end processes in a timely manner

* Maintain internal systems using Smartsheets, Xero and other software as required

* Oversee and support reception functions and general administration, including incoming/outgoing mail and email communications

* Review existing systems and recommend changes as appropriate

* Ensure strong attention to detail is maintained across all work output, with accurate data entry and numeracy skills

* Problem solve and utilise analytical skills effectively, delivering practical solutions to the organisation

* Identify and implement process improvements to drive the organisation to achieve its goals

Skills & experience

* Minimum 5 years' experience in Financial Accounting

* Minimum 1 year in the Construction Industry

* Accounting degree qualified

* Experience in all aspects of construction business accounting including EOM reporting, BAS/LAS Lodgements, payroll administration including SGC statements, Data Build and Xero

* Advanced in using MS Office, especially Excel

* Experience in producing accurate reports and business documents including managements reports and financial summaries
