Associate / Senior Associate – Cyber, Privacy & Digital Law (Contract Role: 3–6 Months, Sydney)

Are you a seasoned legal professional with expertise in cyber law, privacy, and digital risk? A leading global consulting firm, in partnership with Elevate, is seeking an Associate for a 3–6-month contract based in Sydney.

About the Role

You will be a responder to cyber, privacy, and digital law incidents. This role is ideal for an experienced legal professional with expertise in advising on matters related to:

  • Data protection and privacy law
  • Cyber and information law
  • E-commerce including electronic contracting
  • Bid-data analytics, artificial intelligence, biometrics, internet of things and cloud
  • Blockchain, cryptocurrencies and NFTs
  • Technology procurement and business process outsourcing

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for clients facing cyber, privacy, and digital law crises.
  • Lead incident response efforts, managing legal, operational, and reputational risks.
  • Oversee a team of high-performing lawyers, providing mentorship and career development.
  • Navigate complex regulatory obligations, investigations, and notification requirements.
  • Partner with global law firms across 180+ jurisdictions, gaining international exposure.
  • Collaborate with industry-leading experts in digital forensics, IT restoration, data risk assessment, and threat actor engagement and extortion negotiations.
