About the Role:As Financial Controller, you will lead the financial operations of Essity Australasia, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight. Reporting to the Finance Director and leading a team of direct and indirect reports, you'll oversee financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls and the Accounts Receivable and Payable functions. You will while drive operational excellence and strong working capital management. This is a senior leadership role that combines technical expertise with people leadership and business partnering to support decision-making and long-term success.
What You Will Do:Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards.
Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and reporting.
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including external audits.
Oversee general ledger functions and maintain robust internal controls.
Provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership to support business initiatives.
Drive improvements in financial systems and processes.
Lead the preparation and lodgement of annual financial statements for all group entities.
Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
Identify and mitigate tax risks through strong internal controls and best practices.
Provide strategic and operational leadership across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and accountability.
Partner with business units to deliver financial insights and support decision-making.
Who You Are:
You are a strategic thinker and experienced finance leader who thrives in a collaborative environment. You bring a strong foundation in financial reporting and compliance, along with a passion for developing people and improving processes. To be successful in this role, you will have:
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CA qualification preferred).
7–10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
Proficiency in financial systems and tools such as SAP, BPC, AARO, and Power BI.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
A hands-on, can-do attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
Experience in a multinational corporation (desirable).
