Your new role As the APS5 Case Management Support Officer, you'll be part of a structured induction program that blends on-the-job training with classroom-style learning. This role is ideal for someone looking to build confidence and capability in administrative review processes and government systems Key responsibilities include:
  • Analysing and assessing applications under relevant legislation
  • Preparing case summaries and supporting documentation for review
  • Managing records and filing documents in business systems
  • Drafting and lodging Tribunal documents within statutory timeframes
  • Supporting interlocutory applications and liaising with legal teams
  • Identifying and managing risks, including privacy and priority issues
  • Responding to complaints, Ministerial correspondence, and other requests
  • Assisting in onboarding and mentoring new team members

What you'll need to succeed You'll bring experience in legal administration, paralegal work, or statutory decision-making. A background in public sector administration and a strong understanding of governance frameworks will be highly regarded Skills and attributes:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration abilities
  • Records and information management experience
  • Adaptability and professionalism in a dynamic environment
  • Empathy, cultural competence, and a participant-focused mindset
