About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced
Telecommunications Technician
to join our team on the Gold Coast. This role is hands-on, working across structured cabling, fibre, coax, and data transmission systems. You'll be responsible for installations, testing, fault finding, and repairs, while also supporting project delivery both locally and on FIFO assignments.

We're looking for someone who can work flexibly, including FIFO swings of up to two weeks at short notice. In return, we offer competitive conditions, including overtime paid as per the Telecommunications Award

Key Responsibiliti**

  • esInterpret drawings, specifications and work areas to determine positioning and connections for equipmen
  • t.Install, terminate and test telecommunications cabling (telephone, CCTV, MATV, data and fibre
  • ).Locate faults using diagnostic tools including multimeter, tone source, pair tester, OTDR and cable certifie
  • r.Attach, adjust, repair and replace wires, cables, and faulty equipment component
  • s.Install and configure telecommunications equipment and appliances such as PBX and data transmission system
  • s.Erect, test and maintain aerial and underground cablin
  • g.Perform fibre and data terminations to industry standard
  • s.Work safely at heights and comply with site safety requirement
  • s.Travel on FIFO assignments, sometimes at short notice, and be available for extended swings (up to 2 weeks
