The Company

The Cotton Research and Development Corporation (CRDC) delivers outcomes in cotton Research, Development and Extension (RD&E) for the Australian cotton industry. The Role

To support increased workload, there is now a vacancy for a data professional to join the team as
Data Analytics Specialist
, on a 12 month remote contract.

Reporting to the Manager – Digital, Data,Insights and AI, this key role assists in managing and analysing how data is used, helping to understand RD&E Investment program outcomes, ultimately evaluating the impact of innovation in the cotton industry.

You will be working across projects that combine applied analytics with strategic learning, whilst developing tools and insights.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Data analysis, management and insights
  • Performance and impact framework implementation
  • Driving organisational process improvements through adoption of generative AI

The Person

We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following:

  • Analytical thinking, able to extract meaningful insights from complex data
  • Communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in survey design and general data analytics
  • Skills in data manipulation and wrangling
  • Proficiency in tools such as Python, Excel, Power Query, VBA and or SQL

You will ideally have a analytics or programming background, with a blend of applied maths/statistics, IT and economics training. Your experience in dealing with database or dataframe will be an advantage. You could be a university student, or recent graduate, able to take on this work part time 2-3 days a week for 12 months.
