Superior Pak has an exciting opportunity for both Conventional Machinists and CNC Machinists to join the team in our CANETEC division.  CANETEC specialises in machining of spare parts, gear cutting, manufacturing and assembly of hub components for the sugar cane industry.  With our 'made to order' manufacturing process we can modify our standard specifications to meet our customer needs - meaning no two days are the same.

About the Roles

Our Conventional Machinists:

  • Operate manual lathes and milling machines
  • Carry out general fitting work
  • Operate vertical milling equipment (desirable)

Our CNC Machinists:

  • Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling and milling
  • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.

About You

The successful candidates will have:

  • Trade qualifications (desirable)
  • Experience in assembling gearboxes, hubs and general fitting work
  • Turning experience using small and medium size manual lathes
  • Milling experience using manual milling machines
  • The ability to use radial arm drills
  • Proven experience as a CNC operator (for CNC Machinist position)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Great problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Commitment to safety and following standard work procedures.

About The Process

The preferred candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical which will include a drug and alcohol test.
