Part Time Retail Assistant

The Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL) is seeking an enthusiastic Retail Assistant to join our committed Social Enterprise team.

Location: Deer Park

Job Type: Permanent Part-Time working 22.8 hours per week

Salary: $54,315.25 per annum, based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation. (pro-rata for part-time employment)

About the role

This role supports all retail operations as directed by the Store Manager, while contributing to the generation of funds for BSL programs through recycling donations and engaging volunteers in a safe and welcoming environment.

• Support all retail operations as directed by the Store Manager, including sales, stock control, and merchandising.
• Assist with sorting donations in line with Social Enterprise retail standards.
• Provide professional, courteous, and timely customer service to ensure a high-quality reputation and meet customer needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised store environment, including back-of-house areas.

• Previous retail experience in recycled goods is preferred, but not essential.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team to achieve objectives.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with volunteers, staff, and people from diverse backgrounds.
• Professional, customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
