Lead Maintenance with Purpose. Drive Strategy, Reliability & Results.

About the Role

Reporting to the Port Operations Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the effective execution of all port maintenance activities through the Electrical and Mechanical Supervisors. Your role is to ensure that strategic maintenance planning, resource allocation, team leadership, and compliance are delivered to the highest standard.

This is a leadership and oversight role—not a coordination role. You'll be expected to drive results through your team by empowering supervisors, enhancing preventative maintenance planning, and ensuring high performance across maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor Electrical and Mechanical Supervisors to ensure effective planning and execution of maintenance activities
  • Develop and maintain a strategic preventative maintenance program to improve asset reliability and reduce unplanned downtime
  • Monitor and manage maintenance KPIs including truck wait times and ship loading rates
  • Ensure ≥95% adherence to Preventative Maintenance Program schedule
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews and implement team-driven improvements
  • Manage and report on the maintenance budget, ensuring costs remain within approved limits

What You'll Bring

  • Proven leadership experience in industrial maintenance (preferably port, mining, or logistics)
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance strategies and asset management
  • Excellent planning, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to foster a high-performance, accountable culture
  • Budgeting and cost control experience
  • A commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement

What Good Looks Like at Newhaul

You're a strategic operator who empowers your team, doesn't micromanage, and delivers results through planning, structure, and leadership. You align maintenance decisions with long-term business goals and champion collaboration across departments to keep product moving, ships loading, and equipment performing at its best.

Additional Information
