Role Overview
The Content Strategist will lead the execution, optimization, and scaling of content strategies to drive revenue, enhance brand consistency, and resolve channel misalignment. Working closely with the Head of Performance, Web Developer, Digital Designer and Social Media Manager, with several additional roles and channels coming in the future you will leverage your experience in crafting brand identity and messaging to deliver compelling, on-brand content across website, social media, paid ads, and email marketing and all alternative channels.
Key Responsibilities
1. SEO-Driven Content Strategy and Execution
- Develop and execute content strategies that prioritise SEO to drive organic traffic and revenue
- Conduct keyword research using tools to identify high-intent keywords for product pages, blogs, and landing pages.
- Optimise content for on-page SEO across 50+ attachment pages to improve search rankings and click-through rates.
- Implement local and state based SEO strategies to target Australian contractors
- Create and manage a content calendar to ensure consistent, SEO-optimised content delivery across channels, coordinating with the Head of Performance for campaign alignment.
2. Headless CMS Content Optimisation
- Leverage the headless CMS's capabilities to create dynamic, SEO-friendly content for website, mobile, and omnichannel platforms.
- Collaborate with the Web Developer to implement technical SEO best practices
- Streamline content workflows in the CMS to enable rapid updates for promotions and new products
- Ensure CMS-driven content supports omnichannel consistency, repurposing assets like the extensive video library for website, social media, and email.
3. Content Creation and Management
- Oversee production of high-quality, SEO-optimised content that emphasises customer pain points.
- Collaborate with the Digital Designer to create search-friendly visuals and videos for product pages and social media
- Assist with copywriting in the interim to produce compelling, keyword-rich copy for product descriptions, ads, and emails.
- Curate and repurpose the video library to boost SEO and engagement across channels.
- Maintain a unified content calendar to align SEO-driven content with paid campaigns and social media strategies.
4. Brand Consistency Enforcement
- Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines, maintaining a cohesive voice and visual identity to address current brand strategy gaps and resolve channel misalignment.
- Develop and update SEO-informed style guides.
- Train team members on brand and SEO standards to prevent misalignment and ensure search-friendly content.
5. Performance Tracking and SEO Analytics
- Track SEO and content performance metrics using CMS-integrated tools.
- Conduct A/B testing on SEO elements and content formats.
- Deliver monthly reports to management team, highlighting SEO-driven successes and recommending data-driven adjustments.
- Perform content gap analysis to identify opportunities to outrank competitors and capture untapped search demand.
6. Collaboration and Workflow Streamlining
- Coordinate with the Head of Performance, Web Developer, Digital Designer, Social Media Manager, and freelancers to ensure seamless, SEO-optimised content execution.
- Work with the Web Developer to implement technical SEO fixes within the headless CMS.
- Synchronise paid and organic content strategies to unify messaging.
- Manage freelancers to deliver timely, SEO-friendly copy, reducing workload on the core team.
7. Link-Building and Authority Building
- Develop link-building strategies to earn backlinks from reputable industry sites to boost domain authority and rankings.
- Leverage star reviews and customer testimonials to secure partnerships and backlinks, enhancing SEO credibility.
- Create link-worthy content to attract organic links and drive traffic.
8. Experimentation and Innovation
- Test new SEO-friendly content formats and channels.
- Implement advanced SEO techniques
- Explore CMS-driven personalization to enhance user experience.
9. Customer Feedback Integration
- Incorporate star reviews and 97% satisfaction rate into SEO-optimised content.
- Address customer questions in SEO-friendly blogs and FAQs to improve search rankings and engagement.
- Conduct audience research to refine keyword strategies and align content with customer intent.
10. Future Growth Preparation
- Develop scalable, SEO-driven content processes, including templates and a CMS repository.
- Document SEO and content workflows to facilitate future hires.
- Stay updated on SEO trends and CMS advancements to ensure long-term competitiveness.
Preferable Skills/Experience
- 5+ years in content strategy, digital marketing, or related roles, preferably in B2B or industrial sectors.
- Proven success in driving measurable outcomes (e.g., 10%+ conversion uplift, 20%+ traffic growth).
- Experience with headless CMS platforms and analytics tools
- Familiarity with video content strategy and omnichannel delivery.
- Expertise in creating channel-specific content (website, social, ads, email) and managing content calendars.
- Strong understanding of SEO, personalization, and A/B testing.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to align cross-functional teams.
- Ability to analyse data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Preferred Experience in construction, manufacturing, or heavy equipment industries.
