Role Highlights

As Senior Civil / Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking, supporting, and managing the design and the asset management function of new and existing assets within the Inner Harbour. The role provides technical assurance to ensure that all assets are safe to operate and maintain and comply with statutory requirements and national standards.

In this diverse, hands-on role, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as Design Manger for projects or, achieve effective design management through a delegate to achieve this function and quality outcomes.

  • Provide technical advice and strategic support to the Assets and Services leadership team on issues pertaining to civil engineering, and other assets.

  • Manage engineering consultants engaged for studies, design, and other projects. 

  • Mentor, coach and support engineers within the team and within project teams to continuously develop our technical capability and maturity.

What Makes You a Great Fit

Your excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities mean you have proven ability to analyse existing and/or proposed assets and facilities to evaluate effectiveness and provide recommendations that meet stakeholder requirements. Your well-developed interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills allow you to manage the delivery of engineering services by consultants ensuring value for money.

You'll also bring:

  • Degree in relevant Engineering discipline, and a minimum of 5 years' experience in relevant roles.

  • Experience in the development of fit for purpose solutions in a complex brownfields operational environment.

  • Detailed knowledge of statutory requirements, regulation and national standards associated with ports, maritime infrastructure and dangerous goods.

  • A mindset of continuous improvement, consistently seeking ways to enhance systems, processes, and outcomes while embodying our core values of Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (CARE).
