Mulgrave Victoria Australia Cmp Consulting Group Pty Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

It's easy to take water for granted, but at CMP we don't. It's essential for life, and it's a resource that is only getting scarcer. We love that we get to use our engineering skills to make water supplies available, fit for purpose, and sustainable for future generations. If this sounds like something that you'd like to be a part of, read on.

About Us

We are CMP Consulting Group Pty Ltd. We are part of Vysarn Ltd (ASX:VYS), a growing network of businesses focused on integrated water and infrastructure services. We are leaders in the water industry, and we are passionate about the impact we can have for Australian communities through our work. Everything we do, we do to provide excellent, long-lasting outcomes for our clients and the customers that we serve. We create value for our clients and our staff by challenging the status quo that is offered by multi-national consultancies.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer and Senior Civil Engineer with water industry design experience to join our team of industry specialists. In this role you will play a key part in developing technical solutions and delivering projects on a variety of long-term contracts for our valued clients – including Sydney Water, Melbourne Water, all three Melbourne metro water agencies, Barwon Water, and most regional Victorian water agencies, amongst others around Australia and New Zealand. Opportunity to be based out of our Perth, Sydney, New Zealand or Melbourne office.

As a versatile engineer, you will be able to pursue your interests in engineering, project management and client relationships, with opportunities for leading key client contracts and/or team leadership for the right candidate. This role will require you to work with and train younger engineers on the job, whilst being supported by and learning from a group of Principal engineers who are leaders in the water industry. As such, your strong communication skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships, will be critical to your success.

What will you be doing?

• Master planning through to conceptual, functional, detailed design, and construction support of water assets – treatment plants, storages, pipelines and pump stations;

• Appreciating client or project technical requirements, developing solutions and leading the preparation of multi-disciplinary design documentation;

• Design-only and design & construct projects with several construction partners;

• Working directly with our clients to build strong relationships and deliver consistently to meet their needs;

• Managing design projects and/or leading or reviewing civil designs;

• Guiding preparation and/or preparing technical drawings in 2D and 3D to Client specifications and digital engineering standards;

• Opportunity to have input into the strategic direction of CMP into the future by drawing on your experience, knowledge and contacts in the industry.

About You

We would like you to bring a consultative approach, with an ability to prioritise your work and get things done – and to enjoy what you do, like we do. Ideally you will also possess the following:

• Tertiary qualification in Civil or Environmental Engineering;

• Experience in civil engineering is required, with consulting experience in the water industry. Similar infrastructure industries will be considered;

• Demonstrated ability to undertake civil design and work effectively across disciplines;

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently to budgeted hours and timeframes;

• Chartered (CPEng) and registered for Civil Engineering in Victoria (PER), or ability to obtain these within an agreed timeframe (with CMP support); applicable for the Senior role.

Why work here?

• Work/life balance – flexible working hours, part- or full-time work, hybrid office/work from home arrangements, paid parental leave, purchased leave options;

• Culture – client and community focused, inclusive of all, fun and relational connection and access to decision-makers, with a focus on wellbeing, safety, and health;

• Career advancement – develop leadership skills in a growing business, paid EA membership, support to achieve and maintain chartership, peer-to-peer training through in-house CMP University program, all expenses paid industry events;

• Variety – involvement in master planning to detailed design, design and construct partnerships, and asset management, working across a diverse client base;

• Impact – get involved with an awarding-winning leader in social procurement with initiatives supporting Aboriginal businesses, women in STEM, and carbon and sustainability.

• We care about where we're going – the outcomes of our work on people and planet; and how we get there – putting safety and wellbeing first and always helping each other out.
