Our Opportunity:
The DevOps Lead is responsible for enabling high-performing, scalable, and secure software delivery by defining and promoting best practices across Development practices, DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure management, release governance, and security. Rather than directly managing delivery or infrastructure teams, this role focuses on setting the strategic direction, frameworks, and guardrails that empower engineering teams to deliver with speed, safety, and consistency.
This role will lead the development of a DevOps strategy and maturity model, establish standards for development, CI/CD pipelines, and guide the adoption of secure, automated, and compliant delivery practices. It will also play a key role in fostering a DevOps culture across the organisation by facilitating knowledge sharing, aligning cross-functional teams, and uplifting capability through enablement and governance.
Accountabilities include:
- Define and drive the DevOps vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with engineering and business goals
- Champion a DevOps culture by advocating for collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement across Development, Operations, QA, and Security teams
- Establish and maintain a DevOps maturity model and associated KPIs to assess adoption, performance, and areas for improvement.
- Define and promote best practices for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) across teams
- Establish standardised pipeline patterns, quality gates, and deployment strategies to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable delivery
- Collaborate with Technology teams to guide the integration of automated testing, security scans, and compliance checks into pipelines
- Act as a subject matter expert and advisor on pipeline design, deployment workflows, and release readiness
- Establish baseline metrics to measure code quality, release efficiency, adherence to coding guidelines
- Collaborate with platform and operations teams to ensure consistent adoption of CI/CD Principles
- Guide teams in adopting SLOs/SLIs and integrating them into delivery pipelines
- Collaborate with security, risk, and compliance teams to align DevOps practices with internal policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2)
- Support teams in integrating automated security checks into CI/CD pipelines
About You:
To be successful in the role you will bring a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement — acting as a trusted advisor, thought leader, and enabler of DevOps excellence across the organisation. You will also be able to demonstrate the following capabilities / experience:
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps transformation, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or enablement capacity
- Proven experience guiding the adoption of DevOps practices, tools, and frameworks across multiple teams
- Experience collaborating with engineering, Infrastructure, Security, QA, and Product teams to align on delivery and operational practices
- Demonstrated success in defining and rolling out DevOps standards, maturity models, and enablement programs
- Experience producing playbooks, templates, and reference architectures for DevOps practices
What's on Offer:
You will enjoy a range of great employee benefits and rewards including:
- Competitive salary + bonus program
- Enjoy additional yearly Well-Being and Community leave days
- 14-week paid parental leave, with equal benefit for both parents
- Employee Referral Program
- Employee Assistance Program – support and assistance for you and your partner at those times in life when you need it most
