The Role

We're looking for a customer-focused Retail Sales Assistant to join our Newport team. You'll be the friendly face behind the counter, helping boat owners, sailors, and tradespeople find the right gear for their needs—from ropes and rigging to safety equipment and marine hardware.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers with product selection and advice
  • Process sales, returns, and special orders using POS systems
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked displays
  • Receive and unpack deliveries, checking for accuracy and quality
  • Support inventory management and stocktakes
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold Riggtech's service standards

What We're Looking For

  • Friendly, professional communication style
  • Interest in boating, sailing, or marine gear (experience a bonus)
  • Reliable, punctual, and proactive attitude
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently
  • Basic computer skills and confidence with point-of-sale systems

Bonus Skills (Not Essential)

  • Experience in retail, customer service, or marine industry
  • Knowledge of yacht rigging, safety gear, or chandlery products
