Overview: The Health Services Programs Branch is responsible for strategic program development and delivery for key health priorities within three key streams; planned, unplanned care and chronic and complex care. The Branch has a health policy focus to drive better value health care that improves population health and patient experience and consolidates operational focus and crisis response as needed.

For ASO8 and AHP4:

The Program Manager, Planned Care is responsible for leading the development, management and delivery of a complex program of projects and initiatives to deliver health system improvements:

• provide advice, leadership, management and program knowledge and coordinate relevant projects;
• establish and maintain effective partnerships with Local Health Networks (LHNs), other service providers and stakeholders to lead and implement program plans and strategies to support health system service initiatives;
• lead and manage strategic analysis of health service delivery to support evidence-based decision-making and develop strategies and comprehensive performance monitoring programs to ensure program integrity and to support system improvement; and
• work in partnership with the Director, Health Services Programs and leadership team of the Health Services Programs Branch to contribute to the achievement of key program goals and objectives.

For RN/M4:

Employees in this role accept accountability for the outcomes of nursing/midwifery management practices, for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy, for contributing to a safe and positive work culture in the interest of patient/client outcomes and for developing corporate team performance. Individual employees accept accountability for their specific span of control or allocated portfolio.

Employees in this role provide, oversee and advise on corporate management and systems services that are by complexity or breadth, demonstrably beyond the usual range; AND/OR Initiate and lead projects of significant scope and complexity such as capital works developments or major systems changes.

Various practice models may be used to enact this role, including but not limited to: Providing management support to a specific span of programs;

• Providing management support in a specific work portfolio/s;
• Coordination, leading and/or management of complex projects and programs of significant scope that contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic directions, policies, goals and objectives that support professional practice demonstratively beyond the usual range;

Appointment to classification will be based upon qualifications / skills / experience.
