The Role

The Project Scheduler- Renewable Energy will ensure that the projects undertaken are planned such that the time aspects of the project are controlled thus optimising resources and minimising construction costs and produce robust planning options throughout project execution by providing an effective and efficient planning service to the projects undertaken. The planner will assist in the provision of project Earned Value Management data as directed by planning lead and assist in driving a planning culture across Projects based on best practice and with a proactive focus on risk management and SQE, additionally, ensure project planning activities are conducted in accordance with the Project policies and procedures as well as National Code of Practice (NCOP) for the construction industry and relevant implementation guidelines.

The role will be focused on renewable projects particularly Solar and BESS and your experience with these projects will be favourably viewed.

  • This role will be accountable for:
  • Expert in developing project plans in accordance with organisational procedures and guidelines
  • SQE legislation, contractual, and legislative compliance skills and regulatory frameworks, systems and key risks
  • Ability to contribute to the development and/or revising strategic direction for projects or programs
  • Full working knowledge of SQ&E legislation, approvals and contractual requirements of SQ&E legislation relevant to work
  • People Management skills, e.g. able to manage work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve outcomes
  • Skills in coaching and mentoring, and in leading and providing direction to employees
  • Financial management skills including demonstrated behaviour in reducing costs, meeting budgets
  • Skills in implementing a planning process and/or product system of audits and schedules
  • Skills in developing, analysing and reporting on project performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformance
  • Skill in document and record management process and procedures
  • Basic skill in identifying and modifying work processes, technology, and/or products
  • Seasoned in planning software e.g. Time Chainage Diagram software, Time Risk Analysis software, Program Forensic Analysis Software, 4D Modelling software, Earned Value and Cash Flow Analysis
  • Knowledge of principles of planning
  • Knowledge of project scope including all phases of a project
  • Knowledge of the Project Delivery Manual and Project Management Plans
  • Knowledge of pre-contracts area
  • Knowledge of Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems and their application to operational requirements
  • Knowledge of compliance and reporting procedures and processes and leadership in the communication of requirements
  • Knowledge of risk management procedures, processes and management tools
  • Knowledge and experience of auditing compliance and reporting procedures and processes

About You

  • Diploma in Engineering / Planning, or;
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, Building, Sciences, Architecture or Planning disciplines
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in construction, Project Controls, Engineering and Planning
  • Experience in the planning process and the use of risk management
  • Experience in managing planning of major projects and tenders
  • Understanding of pre-contracts, compliance and reporting procedures
  • Sound knowledge of the Project delivery manual and Project Management plans
  • Knowledge of compliance and reporting procedures
  • Strategic planning and establishing policies/procedures
