About the Role

You'll be responsible for assisting in the construction, maintenance and repair of Council's civil assets and buildings. Your tasks will include:

• Supporting minor building works including basic carpentry, plumbing and concreting
• Assisting with the installation and maintenance of footpaths, kerb and guttering, stormwater drains and fencing
• Operating Council plant and equipment safely and effectively
• Conducting hazard identification and site safety checks
• Communicating clearly with supervisors and team members
• Maintaining accurate records including timesheets and plant logs

Salary and Benefits

• Salary Range: $1, $1,153.81 per week (depending on qualifications and experience)
• 12% superannuation

What We're Looking For

You have:

• General knowledge of civil works and building maintenance
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to Year 10
• Class C or P2 driver licence and White Card
• Australian residency or valid work visa

Bonus points if you also have:

• Traffic Control ('Blue', 'Yellow' or 'Red' cards)
• MR Class Driver Licence or higher
• Competency operating plant such as backhoe or forklift
• First Aid Certificate
