Workforce Health Assessors (WHA) offer a range of occupational health screening services to support businesses screen and manage the ongoing health of their workforce. We specialise in pre-employment and ongoing health assessments and provide our clients with timely assessments to suit their health screening needs.
About the Role
Initially, as a Drug and Alcohol Testing Technician and Administrative Officer, you will play a dual role involving both onsite testing and administrative responsibilities. You will be responsible for conducting drug and alcohol testing in accordance with workplace standards and legal guidelines, while also ensuring seamless administrative operations including diary management, client communication, and data handling, and following up on missing information to allow onsite bookings to be finalised.
This role requires proficiency in using portals and various computer programs, particularly Microsoft Excel, and necessitates a high level of attention to detail, discretion, and client-centred service.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team reporting to the Manager, On-site Occupational Health Services within a health-focused organisation, primarily supporting onsite operations. You may be requested by your Manager to assist in clinic assessments during peak times as part of a team, however not the main focus of the role. The role would benefit from your experience in a project management capacity, problem-solving, and people management, requiring a proactive and adaptable person. Your experience within the health sector would be beneficial.
About You
Professional Background (highly regarded, not essential):

Administrative experience in the Allied Health arena (healthcare, pathology or related administrative role).

Allied Health qualification eg Physiotherapist, Exercise Physiologist, Nursing Student, AIN, EN

Previous experience in drug and alcohol testing or ability to acquire.
Technical Skills:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, charts, and data validation tools.

Familiarity with portals, electronic health records (EHR), and administrative systems.
Soft Skills:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
-
High-level organisational and time-management abilities.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

Desire to learn and grow your skill set to include other health assessment components.
Other Attributes:

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and adherence to privacy/confidentiality standards.

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Flexible with hours, particularly for early morning testing outside of standard working hours (planned in advance).
Essential Requirement
Must possess a current Tasmanian Registration to work with Vulnerable People (registration status – Employment).
