Job Description
Join Beyond Bank as our Principal Engineer – Integration and become the driving force behind our enterprise-wide connectivity. You'll architect and deliver cutting-edge integration solutions using Microsoft Azure, enabling secure, scalable, and seamless operations across the organisation. This is a rare opportunity to lead the evolution of our API ecosystem, influence engineering standards, and shape the future of digital transformation at a strategic level.
In this role, you will
- Design scalable, secure APIs using Azure Integration Services, applying best-practice architecture patterns.
- Deliver high-quality C# code for production-ready integration solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
- Embed Azure Well-Architected Framework principles across reliability, security, cost, and performance.
- Define observability standards, KPIs, and alerting mechanisms for proactive monitoring and incident response.
- Optimise cloud resource usage across API workloads to ensure cost-effective performance.
- Enforce API lifecycle governance, ensuring consistency, compliance, and traceability across environments.
- Lead API design reviews, developer experience enhancements, and maintain platform documentation and templates.
- Mentor engineers, influence integration strategy, and contribute to long-term architectural planning.
Qualifications
This role suits a strategic and hands-on technical leader who enjoys solving complex integration challenges and driving enterprise-wide architectural outcomes. They're passionate about building scalable, secure systems and take pride in mentoring others and fostering collaboration. With a clear focus on quality and innovation, they bring structure, consistency, and technical excellence to every solution.
- 8 years experience across technology infrastructure, applications, banking systems, and enterprise architecture.
- Proven ability to align technology strategy with business goals through architecture-led delivery.
- Deep understanding of financial services, including both retail and business banking domains.
- Expert in Azure Integration Services and multi-layered API architectures, with strong C# development skills.
- Skilled in API security, observability, and integration using protocols like OAuth2, mTLS, and SOAP/REST.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a passion for fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
