Substation Cafe is a well-established café, known for great food, coffee, and service. We're looking for a creative and experienced Breakfast & Lunch Chef to join our team in Alexandria.

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 4 years' experience as a Breakfast & Lunch Chef
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (preferred)
  • Able to work at least one weekend day (ideally both)
  • Passion for food and creativity with menus
  • Ability to handle busy service and multitask in a small open kitchen.
  • Good English, strong organisation and communication skills

What you'll do:

  • Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, specials, and catering
  • Maintain quality and consistency of dishes
  • Manage stock, orders, hygiene, and rostering
  • Assist with seasonal menu planning (check our Instagram: @substationcafe)
  • Support and lead a small kitchen team with positive energy
