Join Our CAMILLA Design Tribe as our Senior Designer – Resortwear (Mat Leave Cover)

Part-time | 3 Days Per Week | 12-Month Contract | Commencing March 2026

CAMILLA is calling for a visionary Senior Designer to join our vibrant Design Tribe for a 12-month maternity leave cover, stepping into a pivotal role crafting the heart of our Resortwear collections. This is a rare opportunity to bring your imagination, leadership, and technical skills into a world of colour, craftsmanship, storytelling and luxury, while guiding a talented team in shaping our next chapter.

You'll play a key part in steering our seasonal creative direction, developing elevated designs that reflect the CAMILLA spirit, and ensuring our Resortwear collections bloom with beauty, precision, and purpose.

What you'll be doing as our Senior Designer:

Dream, Design & Shape the Collection

• Conceptualise and create original designs that align with seasonal creative briefs, trend research, and CAMILLA's storytelling vision.
• Research global trends, fabrics, trims and embellishments to inspire and elevate the design process.
• Translate concepts into detailed sketches using both hand rendering and digital tools.
• Oversee print placement and design execution to ensure high prototype success with minimal revisions.
• Collaborate with suppliers and production partners to source premium materials and ensure suitability for manufacture.

Collaborate & Influence

• Work closely with Patternmakers, Garment Tech and Sample Machinists to bring designs to life with exceptional fit and finish.
• Participate in sketch, proto, and collection reviews—presenting confidently to Creative Director, Head of Design and senior stakeholders.
• Partner with Buying & Planning to align design decisions with margin, retail pricing and commercial targets.
• Support seamless execution of the critical path and maintain accuracy across all tech pack handovers.

Lead, Mentor & Inspire

• Guide and develop a small team of Designers and a Design Assistant, nurturing their growth and fostering a collaborative, creative and high-performing environment.
• Delegate workloads effectively and maintain smooth workflow across the 12-month contract period.
• Champion CAMILLA's values, ensuring they are reflected in leadership, communication, and team culture.

What makes you perfect for this role:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years' experience designing luxury womenswear, ideally with a focus on Resort or Ready-to-Wear.
• Strong portfolio showcasing creative innovation, craftsmanship, and storytelling.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, CAD and 3D tools (CLO advantageous).
• Deep understanding of garment construction, draping, fit and fabrications.
• Exceptional communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• A natural collaborator who thrives in fast-paced creative environments.
• A passion for luxury, detail, colour and the CAMILLA aesthetic.
