About The Role
Reporting to the Executive Manager Human Resources, the Human Resources Advisor (Systems and Compliance) is responsible and is to ensure compliance with employment legislation, organisational policies and accreditation standards. The role supports the integrity of HR data, drives process improvements, and ensures that HR practices reflect the values of Aboriginal community control and cultural safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Executive Managers to maintain/update Job Descriptions.
  • Maintain and optimize HR information systems (HRIS) to ensure accurate and secure employee data.
  • Monitor compliance with employment legislation, industrial wards, and internal policies.
  • Support audits, reporting and accreditation processes related to HR functions.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures in consultation with leadership and the HR team.
  • Provide training and support employees on HR systems and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure data privacy and security protocols are upheld across HR and Payroll systems.
  • Generate regular reports and analytics to support workforce planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated and culturally safe HR practices.
  • Stay up to date with changes in legislation and best practice in HR compliance.

Required Essential Skill And Experience

  • Respect for and responsiveness to Aboriginal culture and protocols including support for Aboriginal self-determination.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems or a related field. Diploma or bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience in HR systems administration and compliance roles.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, data management, and HR practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in HR platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Desired Knowledge And Qualification

  • Experience working in a Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation or similar setting.
