About the Role:
As the Manager People & Culture, you'll provide both leadership and technical expertise across all HR functions. You will guide your team and the wider organisation in areas including:
- Employee relations and industrial relations - ensuring compliance and providing clear, practical advice to leaders.
- Workforce planning and organisational design - delivering solutions that meet the needs of a growing and dynamic workforce.
- Performance, capability and development - supporting effective management, staff growth and engagement.
- Workplace health, safety and wellbeing - driving a proactive and inclusive safety culture.
- Policy, process and compliance - ensuring best practice, legislative compliance, and consistent, reliable systems across Council.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your depth of HR knowledge will make a real difference day to day. You'll also partner with the Executive Leadership Team to shape and deliver people strategies that align with organisational priorities.
About you:
You'll bring proven HR expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to balance strategic insight with operational delivery. Your background will include:
- Demonstrated experience across the full range of HR functions - ER/IR, recruitment, workforce planning, performance management, HR policy and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Employment Law and industrial relations frameworks, with the ability to resolve complex issues.
- A track record of leading HR teams and building capability across organisations.
- The confidence to provide practical HR advice to senior leaders and managers.
- A hands-on, outcomes-focused approach, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
