Role Description

As a Traffic and Transport Engineer at Modus, you will be a pivotal member of our team, contributing to the delivery of exceptional traffic engineering consultancy services. You will leverage your technical expertise to ensure high-quality project outcomes, mentor and coach junior staff and actively participate in business development initiatives. This role balances hands-on project execution with strategic thinking, directly contributing to Modus' growth and client success. 

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Excellence & Project Delivery:

  • Lead and execute complex traffic and transport engineering projects, ensuring high quality with minimal rework.
  • Conduct thorough technical reviews and uphold Quality Assurance standards.
  • Track project progress and troubleshoot risks to ensure on-time and on-budget execution.
  • Maintain high client satisfaction through exceptional project delivery.

Mentorship & Coaching:

  • Actively mentor and coach traffic engineers on technical and commercial skills.
  • Drive feedback and recognition, reinforcing Modus' "Humble, Hungry, Smart" behaviours.
  • Contribute to the career development of junior engineers aligned with company goals.
  • Foster trust and vulnerability-based learning within the team.

Business Development & Strategic Contribution:

  • Generate and convert leads, supporting the business development pipeline.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development Manager on growth strategies and attend industry events.
  • Drive high-quality proposals and pitches.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners.
  • Contribute to strategic alignment across projects.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure all work adheres to Modus policies, safety standards, and quality guidelines.
  • Actively identify hazards and take preventative action to maintain a safe workplace.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in traffic and transport engineering consultancy.
  • Strong technical knowledge in traffic engineering services.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach junior engineers.
  • Proficiency in business development and client relationship management.
  • Familiarity with relevant engineering software and tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite, AutoCAD, AutoTurn and SIDRA
