Your new Role:

As a Senior Occupational Therapist within the Adult Acute Psychiatric Unit at Princess Alexandra Hospital, you will play a pivotal role in delivering and advancing high-quality, evidence-based OT services. This position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, influencing patient care and service development through clinical leadership and education.

  • Provide expert Occupational Therapy assessment, intervention, and discharge planning for complex adult psychiatric patients.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical education and supervision of junior clinicians, students, and Allied Health Assistants.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centered, compassionate care and seamless service delivery.
  • Contribute to clinical governance by monitoring outcomes, developing protocols, and supporting evidence-based practice advancements.

About You:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist with a passion for mental health and a commitment to professional excellence. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven expertise delivering Occupational Therapy services in an acute psychiatric setting, with strong clinical judgement and ability to manage complex caseloads.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and provide high-level clinical advice.
  • Leadership experience, including supervising and mentoring less experienced clinicians and students, with a proactive approach to clinical education.
  • A strong commitment to continuous improvement, with experience initiating and evaluating quality and service enhancement projects.
