IT Trainer and Assessor

Responsible to: Operations Manager

Remuneration: Salary is commensurate with qualification and experience

Employment Basis: Contractor/Casual

Introduction:

Shafston International College (Shafston) is a private Registered Training Organisation (RTO) offering educational programs for both domestic and international students. With campuses in Brisbane, the Gold Coast. Shafston delivers Certificate III, IV, Diploma, and English language courses through a variety of delivery models.

We are currently seeking an experienced IT Trainer and Assessor to join our dynamic team to deliver and assess Certificate IV in Information Technology and Diploma of Information technology programs.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Diploma or higher qualification in IT, with proven expertise in web development

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116/TAE40122), coupled with up-to-date industry skills and knowledge

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in various IT disciplines

  • Current industry knowledge and hands-on experience in the IT sector

  • Solid grasp of information technology and technical concepts

  • Experience in designing and delivering both online and in-person technical training programs

  • Excellence in customer service, with professional communication skills (written and verbal) and multicultural awareness

  • Self-motivated, passionate, proactive, and positive attitude, with a strong sense of reliability, punctuality, and integrity

  • Exceptional presentation skills and classroom management skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and assess units of competency for the course of Cert IV in IT and Diploma of IT.

  • Contribute to the validation and moderation of learning and assessment materials

  • Assist with the review and development of Training and Assessment Strategies for programs and qualifications

  • Collaborate with other trainers and subject matter experts to design and deliver training programs

  • Create and maintain training materials as needed

  • Maintain industry and teaching currency through self-arranged professional development activities
