Position: Fully Qualified Mechanic

Location: Brendale, Queensland

Employment Type: Full-Time

Working Hours: Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Diagnosis & Repair: Diagnose and repair vehicle systems, including but not limited to, engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and air conditioning systems.
  • Road Testing: Conduct road tests when required to ensure proper vehicle performance and confirm the effectiveness of repairs.
  • Quality Inspections: Perform quality inspections of vehicle repairs prior to returning the vehicle to the customer, ensuring all repairs meet the highest standards.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate clearly and effectively with customers to explain diagnoses, repairs, and maintenance needs in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Use of Diagnostic Tools: Utilise diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately identify mechanical issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure all required documentation (repair orders, inspection reports, etc.) is completed and accurate. Report any machine defects or malfunctions to management.
  • Vehicle Care: Maintain customer vehicles with care, ensuring they are kept clean throughout the repair process.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive industry trends, technologies, and repair techniques to provide high-quality service.

Requirements

  • Experience: Fully qualified light vehicle mechanic, experience as an automotive mechanic, Certificate III Light Vehicle Technology or equivalent, with a solid understanding of vehicle systems and repair procedures.
  • Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and hand tools. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a customer-friendly manner.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and handle heavy parts and tools, work in a physically demanding environment, and perform tasks that may require standing or bending for extended periods.
