About the role

The Manager, Communications & Engagement leads the distribution of public information and collateral related to recovery programs across NSW and other RA programs of work. You will also support and coordinate community engagement programs to help deepen RA's connections with community and stakeholders.

As the successful Manager, Communications & Engagement, you will:

  • Develop a forward-looking strategic communications plan for programs and activities and lead the implementation and evaluation of the plan

  • Plan and lead the implementation of integrated community and stakeholder engagement strategies, programs and initiatives to understand key concerns and issues and build consensus and trust with stakeholders

  • Showcase the work of the Authority through a range of engaging formats and build a program of external engagement activities, events and communications materials

  • Work collaboratively with teams across the Authority to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to public communications and stakeholder engagement

  • Prepare communications collateral including newsletters, fact sheets, flyers, posters, website content and other materials as required

  • Provide expert advice and information to the executive leadership team to support strategic decision processes and issues responses.

About you

High calibre candidates will have relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations or journalism or relevant/demonstrated equivalent experience in managing communications in a complex multifaceted politically and media sensitive environment. You will be self-directed and motivated, can work collaboratively and positively with others as well as the ability to think strategically while also having very good attention to detail.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations or journalism or relevant/demonstrated equivalent experience.
