The roleA rewarding opportunity exists for an experienced and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team at Guide Dogs Queensland, based at our head office in Bald Hills.
This role is instrumental in supporting clients with low vision or blindness to participate effectively, efficiently, independently, confidently, and safely in everyday activities.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will have the unique opportunity to apply your skills in a niche area by designing and implementing individual program plans and/or NDIS plans tailored specifically to the needs and goals of our clients.
This position is available on a part-time (minimum 4 days per week) or full-time (preferred) basis. You will also enjoy regular travel for work with clients within an allocated region of Queensland. About You- Our successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A genuine interest in collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to deliver meaningful, person-centred therapy for both adults, and young people.
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration.
- At least 3 years' experience as an Occupational Therapist, ideally in a community or rehabilitation setting.
- Strong organisation and time management skills, with the confidence to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills (you connect easily with clients, families, and colleagues).
- A current Open Driver's Licence and First Aid Certificate.
- Willingness to travel for outreach services (up to 3 - 4 nights at a time within a six-week period).
