About this role

Great opportunity to join a growing Compliance team, with the ability to work closely with the business to influence compliance outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain an effective compliance monitoring programme to ensure the company meets its obligations under AU/NZ law and regulations.
  • Provide timely and practical regulatory advice to senior management and business units on compliance issues affecting products, services, and business processes.
  • Lead the creation, review, and continuous improvement of compliance policies, procedures, and controls across the organisation.
  • Manage submissions and correspondence with AU regulators, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Act as a key contact for any regulatory enquiries or audits.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance and conduct risks. Partner with the Risk function to support risk assessments, incident reporting, and remediation plans.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programmes to enhance organisational understanding of regulatory obligations and promote a strong compliance culture.
  • Oversee compliance reporting to senior leadership and the Board, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Review new products, services, and contracts to ensure alignment with regulatory standards and company policy.
  • Work cross-functionally with Legal, Risk, Product, and Operations teams to embed compliance into business processes and decision-making.

Skills & Experience required

  • In-depth understanding of the AU and NZ financial services regulatory environment, including AFCA, APRA, ASIC, and AU/NZ Privacy requirements.
  • Strong ability to interpret, apply, and communicate complex regulatory requirements in a commercial context.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk identification.
  • Experience managing compliance systems and tools to monitor obligations and incidents.
