The Opportunity:

Role: PM OPERATIONS MANAGER

Location:  DANDENONG SOUTH, VIC

Expected Hours of Work: MON- FRI- 12NOON start

Reporting directly to the Depot Manager this role has a focus on ensuring operational efficiency. The successful applicant will control and ensure loading/unloading operational functions are completed safely, efficiently and according to time schedules while monitoring labour requirements.

The position will include the following duties but will not be limited to:

· Take ownership of the PM shift and lead a dedicated supervisory team

· Ensure quality, express movement of freight delivery, no delays or losses, in accordance with Company policies and procedures;

· Maintain daily control over freight distribution, bookings, timelines, freight security, freight handling care, 'special instructions' and paperwork management;

· Maintain/manage vehicle allocations for freight distribution

· Maintain team leadership – setting day-to-day order of tasks for your assigned leadership team, truck drivers, forklift drivers and dockhands;

· Provide weekly report analysis;

· Communicate effectively with interstate and intrastate counterparts

· Communicate effectively with various contractors.

· Conduct corrective action(s) training with employees;

· Re-schedule jobs between team members and/or priority of tasks as required;

· Re-check freight exceptions for prompt delivery;

· Actively participate in the recruitment process including conducting interviews and inductions of new employees;

· Ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures;

In order to be successful in this role you must possess the following skills, attributes and qualifications:

· Minimum 5 years' experience within the transport and logistics industry (Essential)

· A broad understanding of transport laws, fatigue management and safety requirements

· A high level of literacy, numeracy and computer skills

· Demonstrated solid experience in supervising and coordinating staff

· Demonstrated experience in leading process development and improvement

· Excellent communication skills written and verbal

· Exceptional Work Ethic

· Be highly organised with a keen eye for detail

This is a full time salaried position with remuneration dependent upon experience and qualifications.
