. This is a
hybrid
role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Our Perth team manages LGISWA, a mutual indemnity scheme owned by 145 Western Australian local governments, catering to their specific needs. What can you expect?
The opportunity at LGIS is an excellent prospect for early career professionals interested in workplace injury prevention and risk management within local government. The role involves delivering injury prevention services aimed at reducing musculoskeletal injuries among staff, contributing to the broader goals of the LGISWA Scheme's Workforce Health & Wellbeing Program.
This position provides valuable learning and development opportunities in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, with an emphasis on innovation and proactive risk management strategies. The team's strategic focus is on lowering workers' compensation claims and associated costs, making it a meaningful role for those passionate about health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace.
The successful candidate will also be presented with the opportunity to:

We will count on you to:
- Drive a participatory approach to the control of manual task injuries with WA local government sector, complying with WA Code of Practise: Manual Tasks.
- Innovate early intervention and prevention services to reduce musculoskeletal injuries and claim trends.
- Deliver manual task and ergonomic services (office and machinery) across WA (including regional and remote locations).
- Deliver education sessions to WA local government employees to mitigate workers compensation claims and costs.
- Collaborate with internal Client Service Account Managers, WHS / Risk Consultants, Injury Management Consultants, Claims Consultants and Regional Risk Coordinators, to support proactive injury prevention strategies for potential high risk work areas.
- Provision of assistance to the Manager, Workcare Services in developing strategic health and wellbeing/injury prevention service plans that meet the needs of LGIS member organisations.
What you need to have:
- Qualification in Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy, Ergonomics, WHS or Physiotherapy (Essential)
- Cert IV Training & Assessment (not essential)
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn and develop
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Computer literacy, including skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint & Outlook
- Effective time management skills
- A willingness to travel across WA to support all local governments who are members of LGIS, supported by a current WA driver's license
