Position Summary
The Marketing and Events Manager is responsible for leading and executing the MANAWISE marketing and communications strategy across digital platforms, events, and brand campaigns. The role is critical to growing the visibility and impact of MANAWISE by managing high-quality content, thought leadership, storytelling, and brand-aligned events.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
- Develop and implement digital marketing strategies across web, email, and social media
- Manage content calendars and ensure alignment with organisational goals
- Lead copywriting for websites, reports, blogs, newsletters, and stakeholder communications
- Oversee brand consistency across all channels and collateral
- Collaborate with internal teams to communicate key initiatives and success stories
Content Creation
- Produce engaging multimedia content (e.g. videos, graphics, reels) to showcase programs and impact
- Source and brief external designers, photographers, and videographers as needed
- Monitor content performance and adjust campaigns for maximum engagement
Events Management
- Lead planning and execution of MANAWISE events, including cultural festivals, training intensives, and leadership retreats
- Liaise with venues, suppliers, partners, and internal teams to deliver smooth event experiences
- Manage event marketing and post-event reporting
Stakeholder Engagement
- Support development of marketing collateral for funders, partners, and community leaders
- Assist with media relations, PR campaigns, and public announcements
- Contribute to grant and tender submissions where marketing content is required
Key Selection Criteria
Essential
- Minimum 5 years' experience in marketing, communications, or events
- Strong digital marketing skills (e.g. SEO, EDMs, analytics, Meta Ads, Google Ads)
- Proven experience in content creation and multimedia storytelling
- Excellent writing and editing skills with a portfolio of professional work
- Event planning and delivery experience (community, corporate, or educational)
- Strong organisational and project management skills
Highly Desirable
- Experience working in youth, social impact, or First Nations/Pasifika-led organisations
- Graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Knowledge of cultural safety and community co-design principles
