The Freedom of Information (FOI) Officer is accountable for assessing and processing applications made pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act 1991 (FOI Act). This includes, but is not limited to, liaising with relevant stakeholders and assisting in the identification, location and coordination of the retrieval of documents across multiple sites within the agency, undertaking research; consulting with third parties; internal and external stakeholders; drafting and vetting determinations; and providing an advisory service to a diverse range of clients.
Special Conditions
- The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.
- The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some out of hours work may be required in order to process urgent or outstanding backlogs of FOI requests.
- The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL's iEngage program.
Salary
ASO4 - $76,561 - $80,256 per annum.

- Statement of Suitability: A document (maximum three pages, excluding any cover letter) that addresses the Essential Minimum Requirements and Desirable Characteristics by demonstrating relevant experience or transferable skills aligned with the Key Responsibilities outlined in the ASO4 FOI Officer Position Information Document (PID).

- Details of Three Referees: Include each referee's name, title, and contact number.
- Employment Declaration: Applicants who are external to SAPOL must complete and submit an Employment Declaration form
Applicants must submit a covering letter (two pages) addressing the essential minimum requirements of the role outlined in the Position Information Document, a current resume and the contact information of three referees including your current line manager.
Applicants external to SAPOL must complete an RF2099 Pre-Employment Declaration Form and submit this with their application.
