About the Opportunity

We're seeking a Design Engineer to join our high-performing team at Malcolm Thompson Pumps near Perth Airport.

In this role you will provide end-to-end design solutions for pumping systems, mechanical components, and control systems while supporting our Engineering and Design team, branches and customers.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Engage with customers to understand requirements and ensure solutions meet functional and commercial needs.
  • Engineer, design, and develop pumping system solutions.
  • Support branches in tender proposals and project planning.
  • Manage projects, oversee installations, and commission solutions to specification.
  • Provide advanced technical support and diagnostics.
  • Research and develop new products to address market opportunities.
  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders.

About You

  • Strong analysis, design, and diagnostic skills for pump systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD and SolidWorks).
  • Experience preparing technical reports, proposals, and tender responses.
  • Excellent project management and commissioning experience.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a desire to transfer knowledge to others.
