About The Role
The Terminal Operations Planning Specialist plays a key role in shaping the future of terminal operations by leading innovative planning efforts, optimising terminal resources, and monitoring performance within a dynamic airport setting. What You Will Do
- As a Terminal Operations Planning Specialist at Adelaide Airport, you will immerse yourself in a dynamic environment where your expertise in operational planning will drive the success of terminal activities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Act as the primary liaison to manage airline slot requests and seasonal terminal capacity declarations to ensure efficient utilisation of terminal infrastructure.
- Validate new route proposals and schedule changes in partnership with the Aviation Business Development team to maintain compliance with terminal capacity guidelines.
- Develop and manage robust data sources related to passenger flow, aircraft movements, baggage handling, security throughput, and international facilitation for planning decisions and performance analysis.
- Lead comprehensive stand and gate planning for T1 operations on both seasonal and monthly bases, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and passenger flow.
- Conduct detailed check-in allocation planning and security lane demand forecasting up to the day of operations to optimise resource deployment and minimise wait times.
- Develop scenario planning methodologies across fixed infrastructure assets within T1 to anticipate operational challenges and support informed decision-making.
- Ensure all infrastructure planning decisions are guided by customer experience outcomes such as passenger flow efficiency, accessibility, and service quality.
- Provide expert operational advice to the Planning & Infrastructure team regarding potential impacts of proposed projects on terminal functionality .Collaborate closely with internal departments and external partners to coordinate operational enhancements, share actionable insights through structured reporting, and present recommendations to management.
What You Bring
- To excel as a Terminal Operations Planning Specialist at Adelaide Airport, your background should reflect substantial hands-on experience managing complex operational processes where meticulous planning meets real time responsiveness.
- A tertiary qualification in business or a related field (desirable).
- Demonstrated experience in operations planning within complex environments.
- Proven commercial awareness with the ability to apply logic-driven problem solving when interpreting complexity or ambiguity in operational scenarios.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools (preferably Microsoft Fabric and PowerBI) to enable development of resources to support decision-making processes and performance monitoring.
- Strong relationship-building skills enabling effective collaboration across internal departments as well as external stakeholders such as airlines, ground handlers, security agencies, and government authorities.
- Excellent communication abilities encompassing both verbal presentations and structured written reports tailored for diverse audiences including senior management teams.
