Job Description
Your opportunity to join our team
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Quality Assurance Assistant to join our team at the Primary Processing Plant in Murarrie, QLD. This role is based on the AM shift and is critical in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety, supporting our commitment to excellence.

Daily Tasks
- Quality Oversight: Collaborate with production teams to ensure product quality and support personnel training in quality control procedures.
- Material Inspection: Verify raw materials and packaging meet required specifications.
- Hygiene & Allergen Monitoring: Ensure plant hygiene and allergen control programs meet internal and regulatory standards.
- Process Control: Monitor production processes to ensure alignment with company specifications and performance standards.
- Equipment Calibration: Confirm all equipment is calibrated to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
- Product Hold Management: Isolate and label defective products, placing them on QA Hold until final decisions are made.
- Sampling & Testing: Conduct organoleptic, microbiological, and shelf-life testing of finished products.
- Cold Storage Checks: Inspect chillers and freezers for temperature control, hygiene, and stock rotation.
- Compliance Assurance: Support pre-requisite programs (PRPs) including pest control and foreign object prevention.
- Food Safety Adherence: Maintain records and ensure compliance with CCPs, QCPs, and KPIs.
- Complaint Investigation: Assist in resolving internal and customer complaints with timely corrective actions.
- Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits for the site, ensuring readiness and compliance.
- Routine Inspections: Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
You will bring to this role
- Experience in a Quality Assurance role, preferably in food manufacturing.
- Previous experience in a ready-to-eat environment or poultry processing (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety regulations, and quality management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in computer systems related to QA processes.
- Tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Quality Management, or similar (preferred).
