Join Wingecarribee Shire Council as an Operations Crew Member and contribute directly to keeping our community clean and sustainable through hands-on waste management and recycling work at our Resource Recovery Centre in Moss Vale.

What you'll do

As an Operations Crew Member you'll report to the Team Leader Waste Operations and play a key customer-facing role at the Resource Recovery Centre, supporting waste disposal activities, contamination removal, and the separation of recyclable materials. This position helps maintain a clean, safe, and efficient site while contributing to environmental outcomes through effective waste diversion practices. The role also involves general site maintenance and active participation in team-based safety and operational initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed (Essential Criteria)

  1. Solid experience in a multi-purpose construction or maintenance role, including manual labouring roles across a variety of projects
  2. Knowledge and demonstrated experience in manual labouring roles across a variety of projects in construction and/or maintenance
  3. Ability to work in a multi skilled team-based environment
  4. Ability to deal with customers on a daily basis, to deliver a service through effective communication
  5. Demonstrated experience/ knowledge of waste streams, recyclable materials and types of contamination.
  6. Asbestos awareness training in identification, safe handling and suitable control measures
  7. Current NSW Drivers' License
  8. Forklift License or willingness to obtain
  9. Construction Induction White Card

  • Be willing to undergo a Pre-employment Medical prior to commencement
