The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Material Flow Coordinator in our Hot Coil Processing & Despatch (HCPD) Operations team. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
The HCPD (Hot Coil Processing & Despatch) Operations is a key asset in the Hot Mills business that manufactures and dispatches a range of coil products including Hot Rolled Coil, TRU-SPEC Steel, EMBAR Steel and Hot Rolled Slit Strip largely into the domestic market.

- develop plans and strategies to ensure Hot Rolled Coil (HRC) and material feed is available for HCPD processing lines meeting manufacture times and customer delivery schedules
- optimise and short and mid-term planning for product flow and storage across HCPD for domestic and export products
- work collaboratively with key stakeholders in operations, supply chain, fulfilment and logistics to resolve day to day dispatch issues
- investigate and complete root cause analysis for product inventory discrepancies
- identify and put in place strategies to rectify weather sensitive coil storage violations with the broader operations team
More About You
As a reliable and self-motivated individual, you will bring:
- the ability to prioritise work and resolve problems effectively and efficiently
- an ability to influence peers and colleagues to meet operational requirements, scheduling and people demands
- computer competency with the ability to learn new systems
- previous manufacturing/logistics background will be highly regarded
