The Role

An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist/Psychologist/Social Worker - Senior (Mental Health - Acute Care Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide efficient and responsive mental health assessment and management at a high level
  • Lead quality activities and/or research to improve clinical practice and multidisciplinary services
  • Manage a portfolio in a specialist area of interest and complete specific responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, occupational health and safety policies

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work (or equivalent)
  • AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist and Psychologist only)
  • Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (Social Worker only)
  • Driver Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time.
  • Base salary ranging from $132,562 - $143,924 per annum

The Acute Care Team (ACT) is a specialised mental health service that seeks to deliver care and support, that respects the individual's rights, preserves their dignity, and promotes recovery and inclusion. The ACT aims to provide a service that acknowledges an individual's strengths and abilities, and is welcoming, accessible, responsive, collaborative and safe. The team's role is to be the first point of contact for the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Mental Health Service to provide education, support, information, advice and referral.
