An opportunity exists for a Casual medical receptionist (approx. 16 hours/week, plus annual/personal leave cover) in our Ascot clinic.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a supportive team.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Casual Medical Receptionist  to join our Ascot practice.  This is a challenging role and will involve working a busy front desk reception, liasing with patients, supporting doctors and medical staff as well as general administration duties.  The successful candidate will assist the Practice Manager with day-to-day general operations of running a busy medical centre.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and managing appointments
  • Answering telephone calls and enquiries
  • Creating and maintaining patient records
  • Taking messages and conveying information accurately and timely
  • Mailing, faxing and filing
  • Private patient billing/payments using TYRO
  • Medicare, DVA and WorkCover claims
  • Opening and closing of the practice
  • General administrative duties

Skills and Experience

  • Previous minimum 2 years experience in a medical reception role is essential
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Professional telephone manner with clear verbal skills
  • High standard of personal integrity to maintain patient/doctor confidentiality
  • Experienced and confident using medical practice software - Best Practice
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise in a busy team environment
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible availability for sick/annual leave cover
